The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued updated guidance regarding Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) for certain Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders from Burma, Ethiopia, Haiti, Somalia, South Sudan, and Yemen. Under federal court orders, eligible TPS-related EADs with certain original expiration dates have been extended through July 10, 2026 while related legal proceedings continue.
Employers should follow the latest USCIS guidance when completing Form I-9 and E-Verify, including entering the required court-ordered information when applicable. TPS holders and employers should also continue monitoring USCIS updates for any future changes regarding employment authorization and TPS status.
